Tuesday Tunes #6: Sargent Hardy’s playlist

Hola! This is Ruy – founder with Denni at Chicmuse- we started it all many years ago!

This week we have a special guest here: Ned Hardy.

I met Ned this summer in NYC. Just after dinner, cocktails and some uber drives together, his curation of songs  convinced me that he should be the first guest for our music selections at Chicmuse. Ned is currently a student at Stanford, and takes on anything that sounds fun for him: from Djing at clubs in New York City to designing exciting clothing pieces for the Stanford community in Palo Alto.

Although this playlist speaks for itself of how cool Ned is – if you have 30 minutes, you seriously have to listen to all of it- , we asked him a couple of questions:

  • What are three fun things that people should know about you while listening to your playlists?

I loved indoor houseplants. I’m obsessed with vintage rock concert t-shirts. And I drink a lot of water.

  • Where would you choose as your next ideal place to dj?

I’ve always wanted to play a set at Stonehenge. Black-tie, obv. Lots of gin-based cocktails. As the sun goes down, I’d play “Everytime” by Britney Spears, and then we’d spend the entire night dancing to Gregorian chants and, like, Jamie XX.

  • Tell us some things that you learned by yourself while at Stanford University?

Work hard, play hard. Go to museums by yourself and look at 18th-century paintings while listening to Lil Wayne. Enjoy yourself. And as the kids say: “If you don’t have haters, then you ain’t poppin.” Because the rest is truly noise.

Thanks Ned! Follow Ned for more amazing playlists on Spotify, also follow his adventures on Instagram (@srgnt__), and his work at his webpage.

It’s onerous to find educated folks on this topic, but you sound like you already know what you’re talking about! Thanks

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100 certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
