Forbidden City

As I walked yesterday all day long through the Forbidden City here in Beijing, I stopped to take these photos in one of the main buildings of the palace. The merit of taking photos after so many hours under the burning sun and the 35 degree temperature was worth it just to show a small part of the majestic roofs and ceilings of the whole Ming dynasty palace. Having the chance to see such gigantic and still beautifully detailed tile roofs with the inside paintings is something I’d been looking forward since the start of this trip. The palace museum, treasure galleries, tea houses and tea house museum, a room full of clocks, numerous halls and the hundreds of buildings are got together in this Imperial city that remains almost intact as in the times of the chinese emperors.
