Denni Elias for Vogue Italy
Denni Elias photographed by Paolo Roversi, interpreting Frida Kahlo.
Vogue Italy, January 2013 issue
Without a doubt, the best Christmas gift arrived in early December, when I was chosen by the Vogue Italia team to be featured in their first issue of 2013. The fairytale of being shot for Vogue, turned into a gold experience and timeless memory because the photoshoot was going to be made by one of the world’s most amazing and visionary photographers, Paolo Roversi.
Years ago, I admired Paolo Roversi’s work and way of capturing beauty in advertising campaigns and shoots in Vogue Paris, British, and most of course, in Vogue Italy. Everytime I looked at the editorials and fashion shoots in the Italian Vogue, there was a dreamy sensation and a strong artistic sense that nourished my appreciation for the fashion photography.
It was an honor for me to get to know Paolo Roversi and to be his object of photography.
Even more, that I gladly represented my favorite character, Frida Kahlo, and Mexico, the beautiful country where I was born.
Thank you again Paolo Roversi, and the Vogue team for all your effort, and for the great time I had there. I am enchanted by the result.
PS: Hope you enjoy too this magnifique thematic shoot. I sincerely would like to say that the whole January issue is incredible, and that it really is worth getting it!
